The people who make up The Word of God Community Church come from a variety of backgrounds and occupy diverse professions and vocations. Yet we have formed a community where we worship, minister, grow, fellowship, and care for each other.
Our church is handicap accessible.
Whatever makes you comfortable! We don’t have a dress code at Word of God. We ask that you dress modestly, but you can wear anything from jeans & a t-shirt to your fanciest Sunday best.
We have worship service every Sunday at 11:00 AM. Exceptions are: Easter Sunday, the Sunday before (or on) Christmas, & the Sunday before (or on) New Year's Day - Worship service begins at 10:00 instead of 11:00 on these days. Our service lasts approximately 90 minutes.
We pattern our services after the worship services of the first century church. This means that scripture is the most important element of our worship.
Every Sunday, our Pastor presents the sermon in a way that is Biblically accurate, easy to understand, & relevant to our daily lives & our spiritual growth.
We open our service with a congregational scripture reading. Then we sing several songs, both traditional hymns & modern Christian songs. Our Elders read a passage from the Old Testament, the book of Psalms, & the New Testament, & our Choir ministers to us with a song. After the sermon, we read announcements & close the service with another short scripture reading.
On the first Sunday of each month, we have communion. Everyone who has accepted Christ as Savior is welcome to participate.
Children are always welcome at the worship service. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God." (Mark 10:14b NKJV)
We do have a Nursery for ages 0 - 5 years old. Children may spend all or part of the service in the Nursery, or they may remain with you in the sanctuary. The choice is yours.
